Today marks the beginning of a two day web extravaganza in San Francisco, hosted by Google. The event is Google I/O and it features numerous presentation on topics like Ajax, HTML5, and Google made technologies, like OpenSocial. Yesterday, May 21st, Microsoft officially announced Live Search cashback, an advertising scheme in which users get a small percent (usually 2-7%) of their purchase back, similar to Ebates. The way the system works is that advertisers (like Barnes & Noble and Zappos) partner with Microsoft to have their products listed in cashback. Last Friday, the 16th, I joined Improv Everywhere with a friend and attempted to create a series of flashes across the Brooklyn Bridge, going from Brooklyn to Manhattan and back again.
