Since 2004, Yelp.com has been making a name for itself as a user-driven city guide. I first came across Yelp over the summer in Fortune Small Business. As I was reading the article, I was amazed that I hadn’t already found Yelp.

Yelp is essentially an online version of the Zagat Survey implemented with the finest web technologies. It makes great use of the Google Maps APIGoogle Co-op, and it implements Ajax very well. Yelp also has an API of its own for developers.

On a final note, one of the classes I planned to take next semester, the public speaking class, was just filled, so my schedule for next semester is going to be a little different.
