Zhongwen.com
March 22, 2008
Recently a friend introduced me to the website Zhongwen.com. Zhongwen, the pronunciation of the Simplified Mandarin characters 中文, means ‘Chinese language’. Holding true to its name Zhongwen.com is full of information on Chinese characters and culture, making it a great resource to students and the curious. Simply type in an English word and you’re on your way to accessing a plethora of information on the word, characters that make up the word, and a whole lot more. Because I’m a Zhongwen Xuesheng (中文学生) or Chinese Student, Zhongwen.com is a great resource to have and I highly recommend it.
In other news, my current semester at Rensselaer is going very well. I really enjoy all of my classes and except to finish strong, as always. Yesterday, I took my second test in Computer Science 2, which I felt I did very well on. Our latest assignment on the class involves making a primitive web crawler (what Google and other search engines use to generate web rankings and results). The assignment looks challenging, but I can’t wait to finish it.
